Vitamin C is contained in the product partly in its pure form as ascorbic acid, a larger amount as ascorbate calcium – this neutral form of vitamin C is more agreeable to the stomach mucous membrane.
Because the body cannot produce vitamin C by itself, it must be added in nutrition, high doses of vitamin C are administered:
- when infectious diseases are being spread (eg. flu epidemic, common cold)
- when exposed to hard work and stressful jobs, higher physical exertion
- for better healing of wounds and after operations
- to smokers
- in higher age
Rutin belongs to the bioflavonoids group, has a positive effect on the elasticity and clearness of blood capillaries, it is an essential antioxidant and boosts the effect of vitamin C.
